About Dr. Abrol

A frozen shoulder develops slowly, with pain and stiffness gradually clamping down over months and sometimes years, restricting simple actions like reaching for the phone or sleeping comfortably. In Ayurveda, it is attributed to a Vata dosha imbalance drying out the joint's natural lubrication, sometimes compounded by Kapha adding heaviness and swelling.

Medical causes include injuries or overuse that trigger inflammation of the shoulder capsule, long periods of immobility after surgery or injury, diabetes or thyroid conditions, and prolonged poor posture or repetitive movement - all of which allow the joint capsule to gradually thicken and trap movement.
