About Dr. Abrol

Diabetes is a condition where the body is unable to manage its blood sugar levels effectively, and has become a serious global health issue that can affect many organs if left unmanaged. In Ayurveda, diabetes is known as Madhumeha - the advanced stage of a broader condition called Prameha - and develops slowly due to long-term imbalance in diet, lifestyle, stress, and digestion.

Treating only the sugar numbers is not enough: strengthening digestion, balancing the doshas (especially Kapha and Vata), and correcting daily habits leads to more lasting results. When digestive fire (Agni) weakens, toxins (Ama) form and block the body's channels (Srotas), interfering with the body's ability to properly use sugar.

Common Questions

Diabetes - Frequently Asked Questions

Catching high blood sugar early creates a real chance to reverse the condition to some extent. For long-standing diabetes, the focus shifts to keeping levels stable and preventing complications.

Refined sugar, sweets, sugary drinks, fried food, processed snacks, and anything made with white flour.

Herbal remedies should not replace prescribed medication without your doctor's guidance - always consult your doctor before making changes.

A balanced diet, regular exercise, good sleep, reduced stress, and a steady daily routine all support prevention.

When prescribed by a doctor, these treatments are generally safe - self-medicating is not advised.
