About Dr. Abrol

The word "Udvartan" means rubbing the body with churna (coarse herbal powders), so it can be understood as a powder massage using medicated herbal powders. This unique procedure is used for various health issues as well as for slimming cellulite.

Rubbing the body with an herbal paste - a mixture of dry herbal powder and medicated oils or other liquids - is called Utsadan.

How It Works

Your Treatment Journey

  1. 1

    Positioning

The patient is asked to lie down in a supine position (on the back).

  2. 2

    Directional Application

Massage is started from the legs, arms, chest, abdomen, back, and gluteal region, and is done in an upward direction - towards the heart - against circulation, for a duration set by the patient's condition.

  3. 3

    Technique & Aftercare

Udvartan is done by two hands (one therapist) or four hands (two therapists) in a synchronised way for better results. Post-care tips are advised by the doctor.

Common Questions

Udvartana - Frequently Asked Questions

Dr. Abrol reviews your full medical history and current medication before recommending Udvartana or any Panchakarma therapy, and coordinates your care alongside your existing treatment where appropriate.

This varies by condition and your body constitution (Prakriti). Dr. Abrol recommends a personalised course length after your first consultation.

The therapy itself requires an in-clinic visit, but international and NRI patients can have their initial consultation and treatment plan prepared online before travelling in for sessions.
